Core Responsibilities
- Assessing patient needs and recommending frame and lens selections based on appearance, lifestyle and prescription requirements
- Educating patients about types of lenses and lens enhancements
- Properly fitting new glasses
- Adjusting and repairing of frames as needed
- Supporting doctors by facilitating pre-exam testing, retinal imaging and peripheral vision testing, etc
- Answering telephones, booking and confirmation of appointments
Required Qualifications
- Experience dispensing single vision and multi-focal eyeglasses
- Proficiency with tools and methods for eyeglass adjustment and repair
- Experience in consultative (needs-based) sales, with a proven record of success
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with patients
- An eye for fashion and style
- General proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office
- Strong problem-solving and customer relationship skills
- Aptitude for basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions)
- Attention to detail

Westlock Eye Centre is a patient-centered optometry clinic dedicated to delivering exceptional eyecare through advanced technology, compassionate service, and a highly skilled team. We are looking for an experienced and organized Optometry Clinic Manager to oversee daily clinic operations and support our doctors in providing top-tier patient care.
Position Overview
The Optometry Clinic Manager is responsible for ensuring the clinic runs efficiently while maintaining an excellent patient experience. This includes supervising staff, optimizing workflow, overseeing scheduling and billing processes, and maintaining compliance with clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage day-to-day clinic operations and ensure smooth patient flow
· Lead, train, and mentor front desk, opticians and optometric assistants
· Oversee scheduling for staff
· Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction by handling inquiries and resolving concerns
· Monitor billing processes and insurance claims
· Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, PIPEDA standards, and clinic protocols
· Coordinate vendor relationships and maintain inventory of clinical and optical supplies
· Support doctors with clinical workflow and operational needs
· Analyze performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership
· Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient experience
Qualifications
· 2+ years of experience in an optometry, medical, or healthcare office management role (required)
· Strong leadership and staff management skills
· Knowledge of eyecare terminology, clinical workflow, and insurance billing (preferred)
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities
· Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and office management software
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
