Responsibilities:

  • Engage with everyone in our clinic in a friendly manner, welcoming clients into our space and creating a comfortable atmosphere
  • Assist clients in selecting frames that both express their style and meet their vision needs, utilizing your fashion awareness and eye for detail
  • Meticulously measure frames for orders, ensuring precise fits and accurate order entry into EMR software
  • Schedule appointments efficiently, being cognizant to create a smooth patient flow throughout the day
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance office culture; we like a good joke (or treats!)
  • Self motivated to find tasks that need to be completed to ensure the office continues to run smoothly

Requirements:

  • Warm and inviting demeanor, with a genuine passion for helping others
  • Fashion-conscious with an eye for style, both in personal presentation (ie. how you dress yourself for work) and assisting clients
  • Detail-oriented approach to tasks, ensuring accuracy in frame measurements and scheduling appointments
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Optical experience is preferred but not required; we are more focused on finding the right fit for our team

We are looking for a full-time, positive, detail-oriented and efficient Licensed Optician to join our busy downtown Victoria Optometric clinic.

Your duties will include mainly edging, frame selection, lens dispensing, glasses repair and adjustments. In addition, contact lens training, ordering and knowledge is a must. Occasionally duties might include clerical work, booking patients, phone calls, etc.

Working hours will range from 30-40 hours per week and dependent on business needs, including evenings and Saturdays. Flexibility is ideal. 

This position does require previous experience. Being positive, easy going, and having great communication skills with our patients and with other staff members is essential and this is what will set you apart from the rest. The right candidate must be able to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.

Remuneration is very competitive and based on experience.
